Job Description

Working within the inter-professional WSIB Specialized Care program the Registered Kinesiologist will provide exercise assessment and re-assessment (as appropriate), treatment including assisting with the development and progression of a patient exercise and work hardening programs, and education to progress individuals with work-related injuries to reach their goals. In addition, this role will support interdisciplinary care through attending rounds, setting goals, preparing and completing reports in alignment with program and professional standards. The Kinesiologist supports patient education utilizing adult learning principles and motivational interviewing techniques.

Qualifications

  • Current registration with and a member in good standing with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario
  • Undergraduate degree in Kinesiology from a recognized university
  • Minimum of 3 years direct exercise instructional/progression related experience with WSIB worker population
  • Excellent goal setting, exercise progression and assessment skills
  • Working knowledge of adult learning principles and coaching techniques
  • Ability to establish effective relationships with patients and team members
  • Experience with organizing, coordinating and overseeing large volumes of patients in a short period of time
  • Proven ability to multitask, prioritize, and leverage sound clinical decision-making
  • Well-developed conflict-resolution skills
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proven ability to work in an interdisciplinary team
  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word and Power Point)

Additional Information

Hours: Monday - Sunday, 7.5 Days (hours subject to change based on operational needs of the department)

Salary: $ $50.772 per hour
