Responsibilities

  • Conduct compilation, review, audit, bookkeeping and tax engagements
  • Set-up files for new clients and newly incorporated businesses; manage multiple files simultaneously and conduct inventory counts
  • Perform accounts receivable, accounts payable, capital asset acquisition and disposition and payroll walk-through with clients
  • Summarize clients' current financial status by collecting information and preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statements and other relevant reports
  • Assess and assure appropriateness of audit evidence for expenses, revenues, capital asset additions, accounts payable, accounts receivable and prepaid expenses
  • Review, investigate and correct discrepancies and irregularities in financial entries, documents and reports
  • Establish charts of accounts and prepare entries for posting to accounts
  • Prepare correspondence, technical reports, client summaries and presentations outlining engagement findings, facts and highlights
  • Develop effective working relationships with clients while coaching and mentoring junior team members
  • Participate in business development initiatives and identify new business opportunities
  • Maintain flexibility to travel, as necessary

Skills And Experience

  • CPA designation, or working towards
  • 2 to 4 years of relevant public accounting experience
  • Extensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • Experience working with accounting and tax software
  • Understanding of business, accounting, management and practice development principles

Responsabilités

  • Réaliser des missions de compilation, d'examen, et d'audit; fournir des services de tenue de comptabilité et de fiscalité.
  • Préparer les dossiers pour les nouveaux clients et les entreprises récemment constituées en société; gérer plusieurs dossiers à la fois et réaliser des prises d'inventaires.
  • Effectuer les tests de cheminement des débiteurs, des créditeurs, des acquisitions d'immobilisations, des cessions et de la paie avec les clients.
  • Résumer la situation financière actuelle du client en recueillant de l'information et en préparant le bilan, l'état des résultats et d'autres rapports pertinents.
  • Évaluer et assurer le caractère approprié des éléments probants relatifs étayant les charges, les produits, les acquisitions d'immobilisations, les créditeurs, les débiteurs et les charges payées d'avance.
  • Examiner et corriger les écarts et les irrégularités dans les écritures, les documents et les rapports de nature financière.
  • Dresser des plans comptables et préparer les écritures à inclure dans les comptes.
  • Préparer des correspondances, des rapports techniques, des résumés pour les clients et des présentations exposant les constatations, les faits et les points saillants relatifs au mandat.
  • Établir des relations de travail efficaces avec les clients; encadrer et guider les membres de l'équipe moins expérimentés.
  • Participer aux projets de prospection et repérer de nouvelles occasions d'affaires.
  • Être disposé à se déplacer, au besoin.

Compétences et expérience

  • Titre de CPA
  • 2 à 4 ans d'expérience pertinente en comptabilité publique
  • Connaissance poussée des principes comptables généralement reconnus (PCGR), de la Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) et des Normes internationales d'information financière (IFRS)
  • Expérience avec des logiciels de comptabilité et de fiscalité
  • Compréhension des principes d'affaires, de comptabilité, de gestion et de prospection
