Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Aide to provide essential support to individuals in their homes. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients by assisting with daily activities and ensuring their comfort and safety. This position requires a strong commitment to patient care and the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals.
Duties
- Provide personal care assistance to clients, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Support clients with mobility and transfers to ensure their safety and comfort.
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding as needed, ensuring nutritional needs are met.
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in health status.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties.
- Offer companionship and emotional support to enhance the well-being of clients.
- Document care provided and report any concerns or changes in client condition to nursing staff.
- Participate in training sessions and team meetings to improve skills and knowledge in patient care.
Requirements
- Previous experience in health care settings such as hospice care, senior care, or home care is preferred.
- Knowledge of patient care practices, including medication administration and meal preparation.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Ability to perform physical tasks associated with patient care, including lifting and assisting with mobility.
- A compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
- Certification as a Health Care Aide or equivalent training is an asset but not mandatory; willingness to undergo training is essential.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Casual
Pay: $21.00-$23.00 per hour
