Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Aide to provide exceptional support and care to a quadriplegic adult male who lives in a private residence. In this vital role, you will provide essential support to an individual in need of assistance with daily living activities. Your primary focus will be enhancing quality of life, ensuring comfort and safety, and promoting independence. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to patient care and be able to enhance quality of life through attentive, respectful, and personalized care. Duties

  • Assist client with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to client, fostering a positive and nurturing environment.
  • Administer medication as prescribed and monitor client for any changes in health status.
  • Assist with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the client's living space to ensure a safe environment.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement personalized care plans tailored to individual needs.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home, or home care environments is preferred.
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities is highly valued.
  • Previous involvement in medication administration or nursing-related tasks is beneficial.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required for patient transfers or mobility assistance.
  • Demonstrated compassion, patience, and excellent communication skills are essential for success in this role.
  • Certification as a Health Care Aide or equivalent training is preferred but not required; willingness to undergo training is essential.
