We are a vertically integrated, family-owned produce farm in the Sumas Prairies of Abbotsford, cultivating 15 different fruits and vegetables across 450 acres. Managing everything from growing and packaging to marketing and shipping, we ensure top-quality produce while upholding strong commitments to sustainability and responsible farming practices.
Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Field Manager to oversee daily field operations and support the lead grower and management team. This role is ideal for someone with strong leadership abilities, a solid understanding of crop production, and a hands-on approach to farming. The Field Manager will ensure that planting, maintenance, and harvesting activities run efficiently and meet the farm's production and quality goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning and execution of crop planting, cultivation, and harvesting operations
- Monitor overall crop and plant health, identifying issues and reporting them to the lead grower
- Oversee irrigation setup, fertilization schedules, and pest management activities
- Maintain accurate crop progress records, field data, and reports using Excel or Word
- Implement and support Integrated Pest Management (IPM) practices to effectively monitor and control pests
- Operate, coordinate, and assist in maintaining farm equipment as required
- Ensure compliance with all safety, food quality, and operational standards
- Lead and support field staff while also performing general farm labor as needed
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous experience in farming, horticulture, or agricultural fieldwork (management experience is an asset)
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and effectively manage a team
- Familiarity with farm machinery and field operations is preferred
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow and enforce procedures

Requirements
- Minimum 1 year experience in Horticulture
- Diploma or Degree in Horticulture is an asset, but not required
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $50,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
