Stellar Law Professional Corporation is a boutique litigation firm in Toronto with a growing criminal law practice. We are seeking a licensed and motivated Paralegal to assist with disclosure review, court attendances, and client support in criminal matters.

Responsibilities

  • Review, analyze, and summarize criminal disclosure (police notes, witness statements, video evidence, reports, etc.).
  • Identify disclosure gaps, inconsistencies, and issues relevant to defence strategy.
  • Prepare concise disclosure briefs and case summaries for lawyer review.
  • Attend routine criminal court appearances, including set dates and adjournments, on behalf of counsel.
  • Communicate with clients regarding scheduling, disclosure status, and next steps.
  • Liaise with the Crown Attorney's office, court staff, and other parties as required.
  • Maintain accurate, organized electronic and physical files.
  • Assist with trial preparation, including compiling exhibit briefs and undertaking follow-up requests.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Paralegal in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario (LSO).
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in criminal law preferred (courtroom experience is an asset).
  • Strong knowledge of the Criminal Code of Canada, court processes, and criminal procedure.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and organizational abilities with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe, and familiarity with electronic disclosure platforms.
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing deadlines, and maintain professionalism in court settings.
