JOB DUTIES

Maintain surveillance of facility and personsWatch for and report irregularities by completing incident reports, such as security breaches, facility and safety hazards, and emergency situations; contact emergency responders, such as police, fire, and/or ambulance personnel, as requiredUtilize site radios and computer applications for communicating / reporting site activities and incidentsSustain effective relationships with key stakeholders and provide specialized security services by enforcing rules and regulations when requiredPerform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Remain calm and effectively perform in emergency situationsWrite comprehensive reports and maintain proper records using effective communication skillsAble to detect problems and report information to appropriate personnelBasic knowledge of security procedures, handling possible violent behaviours, and non- defensive communication.Able to follow, and enforce safety codes, campus regulations, and procedures.Strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, and customer service orientationAble to handle private and confidential information with a high amount of discretionPresent a professional image to the publicAdhere to our Code of Ethics in performing job requirementsAble to understand and follow specific instructions and proceduresModerate physical activity including standing and/or walking for extended periods of  timeValid Security License for the province of OntarioValid First Aid & CPR - Level C Certificate (from a WSIB-approved provider)Ability to be clean shaven to pass an N95 Mask Fit TestProof of COVID-19 Vaccine (minimum double vaccination)A copy of your immunization records (Measles, Mumps, Rubella [MMR], Varicella, Pertussis and TB Skin Tests - Step 1 & 2)How to get Hired in Healthcare:
Immunization Record Form: Immunization-Record-Ontario-Completed immunization for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella and Pertussis are required at the time of hire. Applicants who are not immunized or are otherwise unable to provide their MMR-V immunity at the time of hire will not be deemed eligible for the position.Ability to clear a Vulnerable Sector Check (during onboarding)1 year of security experience (healthcare experience is strongly preferred)Authorized to legally work in Canada

Certification Requirements (All)

First Aid, CPR Level C

Valid Ontario Security License
