Position Overview
As a Kitchen Team Member, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking menu items according to Quik Chik's established recipes and standards. You'll work in a high-energy environment focused on quality, safety, and teamwork. Your work ensures every guest enjoys fresh, hot, perfectly cooked chicken — every time.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and marinate chicken and other menu items following Quik Chik recipes.
- Operate fryers and cooking equipment safely and efficiently.
- Monitor cook times, temperatures, and portion standards for consistency.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen area at all times.
- Wash, cut, and prep fresh ingredients (strips, burgers, sides, sauces, etc.).
- Follow all food safety and handling procedures (HACCP standards).
- Stock and rotate inventory according to FIFO guidelines.
- Assist with receiving and organizing deliveries.
- Work closely with the front counter team to ensure timely order completion.
- Support kitchen leads and management during busy periods.
- Dispose of waste properly and participate in end-of-day cleaning procedures.
Qualifications
- Previous kitchen or restaurant experience is an asset (but not required).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
- Strong sense of cleanliness, organization, and food safety.
- Ability to lift up to 25–30 lbs (oil, boxes, inventory).
- Team-oriented, reliable, and willing to learn.
- Comfortable working around fryers, heat, and kitchen equipment.
- Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, and peak hours.
