Duties

  • Provide general cleaning to hotel public areas and back office spaces. Including but not limited to cleaning floors, emptying waste, washing surfaces, vacuuming.
  • Clean and maintain all public men's and ladies washrooms. Supply paper, soap and towels. Empties trash cans.
  • Clean and maintain pool and health club area.
  • Keep utility room clean and well stocked. Keep equipment clean, well maintained and stored in utility room.
  • Maintain cleanliness standards of all public and back-of-the-house areas, as well as after operation of all equipment used in the department.
  • Practice correct handling procedures in accordance with Hotel Policy and W.H.M.I.S. when using cleaning materials.
  • Maintain work environment as well as storage area to ensure that they are always clean and organized.
  • Follow-up and communicate with Housekeeping Management for additional assignments that do not fall under each position Task List.
  • Report repair and maintenance work that arises in your assigned work area.
  • Follow proper Lost and Found procedures when items are left behind in your designated work area.
  • Ensure consistent compliance with Ottawa Marriott grooming policies.
  • Be knowledgeable of the daily hotel activities as well as available hotel offerings.
  • Adherence with the Ottawa Marriott's Standards of Conduct.
  • Attend departmental staff meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience:

  • Previous experience in a hotel Housekeeping department, cleaning or similar environment a definite asset.

Complexity/Analysis:

  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task.
  • Able to perform physically demanding tasks (standing, lifting, bending, walking).
  • Proven team player.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Good communication skills in both official languages (French & English) required.
  • Must be available for various shifts (morning, evening, weekends and holidays).
