Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical administrative support, with experience in various electronic health record (EHR) systems and a solid understanding of medical terminology and coding. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical office, providing excellent patient service, and maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Duties

  • Manage front desk operations, including greeting patients and handling phone inquiries with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Schedule patient appointments efficiently while managing the clinic's calendar.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation, ensuring compliance with HIPAA standards.
  • Provide clerical support including filing, typing, and managing multi-line phone systems.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure effective communication regarding patient care.
  • Support the administrative team with various tasks as needed to enhance office management efficiency.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a medical office or clinic setting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or similar platforms.
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation review and filing tasks.
  • Ability to demonstrate effective customer service skills and maintain professionalism at all times.
