Job Overview

We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Cashier to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will provide excellent customer service, handle transactions accurately, and contribute to a positive shopping experience. This role involves engaging with customers, managing sales transactions, and supporting store operations in a retail environment. Bilingual skills and experience in retail sales or merchandising are highly valued to enhance customer interactions and support diverse clientele.

Duties

  • Greet customers warmly and assist with their purchases using POS systems
  • Process cash, credit, and digital payments accurately while handling cash safely
  • Provide product demos and upsell items to maximize sales opportunities
  • Maintain organized checkout areas and ensure product displays are appealing
  • Assist customers with inquiries, returns, or exchanges using excellent communication skills
  • Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure smooth checkout flow
  • Uphold phone etiquette when answering customer calls or inquiries
  • Support merchandising efforts by restocking shelves and organizing products as needed
  • Demonstrate technical sales skills when explaining product features or conducting demos
  • Ensure compliance with all store policies regarding cash handling and customer service standards

Requirements

  • Strong communication skills in English
  • Previous experience in retail sales, cashiering, or customer service preferred
  • Basic math skills for handling transactions and giving correct change
  • Proficiency with POS systems and familiarity with retail technology tools
  • Excellent organizational skills and time management to handle multiple tasks efficiently
  • Ability to perform cashier duties accurately while maintaining a friendly demeanor
  • Knowledge of merchandising principles and upselling techniques is advantageous
  • Professional phone etiquette and organizational skills for managing customer interactions effectively
