We are looking for an experienced person who is driven, able to work with others, able to work within tight deadlines, can keep up with manufacturing and production schedules, and who brings a positive attitude to the job. The ideal candidate has a passion for creating baked goods (i.e., pastries), is detailed-oriented, creative, reliable (i.e., on-time for shifts, spectacular attendance), able to work in a physically demanding role, and open minded to change and/or adapt to new processes and recipes.

Requirements

  • At least two (1) year experience in artisan bread and pastries production

  • Available to work 40 hours/week

  • Start at 6:00 AM and must be available to work weekends

  • Must be able to speak English fluently

  • Experience operating bakery equipment

  • Ability to pay attention to detail

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, especially during high seasons (e.g., Christmas, Thanksgiving, etc.)

  • Must be able to handle heavy loads (up to 50 lbs)

  • Must know how to mix doughs and batters for different kinds of pastries and breads

  • Able to work under tight deadlines

  • Must be a Canadian citizen, Permanent Resident, or hold a valid Canadian working visa

Assets

  • Knowledge in croissant-making is considered an asset;

  • A diploma in baking, culinary, or gastronomy from an accredited institution;

  • Knowledge about vegan baking and pastry-making;

  • Experience with ordering raw materials, inventory, and other logistical challenges that may arise throughout the tenure of the job
