Intermediate Mechanical Designer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design mechanical systems using established engineering principles
  • Deliver technical support to both internal teams and external clients
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory standards, client specifications, and company policies
  • Interpret client needs, identify design challenges, and develop accurate, cost-effective solutions
  • Conduct technical analysis and calculations to support project designs
  • Produce, review, and finalize mechanical designs in accordance with project requirements
  • Select and specify system components to meet performance and engineering standards
  • Oversee commissioning of customized systems both in-house and at customer sites
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding company information
  • Follow all health, safety, and corporate policies and report any violations
  • Stay informed of company policies and procedures
  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned by the Engineering Manager

Core Duties:

  • Develop and implement innovative engineering solutions
  • Provide expert technical guidance to internal staff and external customers
  • Actively contribute to the design, development, and execution of engineering projects
  • Participate hands-on in departmental engineering tasks
  • Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with company standards
  • Complete assignments within agreed timelines and budgets, or communicate alternative plans when needed
  • Work additional hours when required and approved to meet project deadlines

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or an equivalent post-secondary credential
  • At least two years of experience as a designer in a multidisciplinary engineering environment
  • Strong foundation in mechanical design principles and detailing practices
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and time-management abilities
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks and Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Capable of working independently or collaboratively within a team
  • High standards of integrity, professionalism, and reliability
  • Ability to remain composed in high-pressure situations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Valid driver's license
  • Willing and able to use required personal protective equipment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.00-$34.00 per hour
