We're seeking a top-tier, quality-driven fabricator who is the "heart" of the fabrication process. In this role, you will be instrumental in measuring, cutting, forming, and welding the specialized enclosures that define our brand. Note: This position is a completely on-site role based out of our facility in North Bay, ON.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Precision Fabrication: Read and interpret assembly blueprints and sketches to determine the sequence and methods for forming and installing sheet metal components.
- Expert Welding: Weld steel, aluminum, and stainless steel parts using GMAW, MCAW, FCAW, and GTAW processes, ensuring maximum weld soundness and quality.
- Machine Operation: Set up and operate fabricating machines including shears, press brakes, punches, and grinders to cut, bend, form, or straighten materials.
- Technical Compliance: Execute proper Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and utilize Welding Procedure Data Sheets (WPDS) for various joints.
- Assembly & Fitting: Check sheet metal fit, drill holes to locate components, and maneuver large structural parts for final welding.
- Equipment Stewardship: Maintain and clean welding equipment, press brakes, and shop machinery to ensure a safe and efficient duty station.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the fabrication team to maximize productivity and aid in the creation/maintenance of internal welding data sheets.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE
- Experience: 1 to 5 years of hands-on experience in welding, fitting, or sheet metal fabrication.
- Certifications: Must hold a valid CWB Ticket (Flat or Horizontal) in FCAW/MCAW. Crane Operator Certification is required.
- Education: Red Seal Sheet Metal Mechanic designation or a Welder/Fitter Diploma.
- Technical Skill: Proficiency in working with multiple metal types (Steel, Aluminum, Stainless) and diverse welding processes.
- Assets: Forklift Operator Training and Certification is considered a strong asset.
- Work Ethic: A "Quality First" mentality—you are meticulous, safety-conscious, and take pride in the cleanliness of your workspace.
