Your role

Key accountabilities/activities

The Business Development Specialist – Oil & Gas is responsible for the growth and development of the oil & gas market in Canada. This consists of maintaining and building strong relationships with key players in the industry and providing technical and commercial report to our sales teams across our 4 product divisions: Industrial Air, Oil-Free Air, Air & Gas Applications and Compressor Technique Service.

The Business Development Specialist – Oil & Gas reports to the Business Line Manager – AGA.

This position is based in Calgary and is full-time at 35 hours per week.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement strategies to successfully launch and expand our oil & gas business focus in Canada

  • Provide professional business support to key accounts, including contract negotiation, product selection, terms & conditions, contract administration, pricing, and incentive programs, in partnership with the Business Line Managers.

  • Ensure customer satisfaction and resolve complaints promptly by coordinating with other departments.

  • Analyze industry trends, competition, and client feedback to develop or adjust marketing strategies specific to the oil & gas sector.

  • Build and maintain strong internal networks to address commercial or technical service issues efficiently.

  • Implement and optimize a robust sales pipeline to ensure that monthly and quarterly sales targets in the oil & gas sector are met and exceeded.

  • Develop commercial and technical sales templates tailored to the oil & gas industry.

  • Collaborate closely with Technical Sales Representatives to cultivate and nurture relationships with prospective oil & gas clients, creating new business opportunities.

  • Enhance the Sales team's effectiveness by designing and developing compelling and tailored sales materials, including client presentations, correspondence, templates, campaigns and other sales-related content specific to mining.

  • Review and refine product proposals and quotation packages in collaboration with Technical Sales Representatives, providing valuable insights and expertise.

  • Comply with the organization's environmental, health & safety, recycling, sustainability efforts and quality assurance policies and standards.

  • All other related tasks and projects

To succeed, you will need
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in one of the following roles: product management/marketing, technical sales or business development.

  • Strong knowledge and experience in the oil and gas industry

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills to effectively engage with clients and colleagues.

  • Proficiency in producing reports and presentations, as well as delivering training sessions.

  • Fluency in both verbal and written communication in English (French proficiency would be advantageous).

  • Previous experience using a CRM system

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Willingness to travel within Canada as needed for business purposes.

  • Eligibility to work in Canada.

  • Driver's license with a clean driver's abstract

  • Educational background in Engineering or a related technical field would be considered an asset.

  • This position requires travel within Canada either to our branches, trade shows or to client sites for customer visits.
