Reporting to the Manager, Emerging Applications; the Business Development, Power Generation Specialist (BD) will identify, acquire, and implement new power generation opportunities across Canada. This role focuses on marketing and selling Superior Propane's services in the power generation industry, while specializing in specific sectors; Oil & Gas, Construction, Mining, Indigenous or Data Centers and Utilities. The BD will drive sales to meet predefined targets and collaborate with internal teams to optimize power generation opportunities.

What you'll do:

  • Prospect, research, identify and close new business opportunities while building a robust network of referrals to support revenue growth.
  • Develop and maintain a strong sales pipeline, close deals, and coordinate implementation plans with Operations to meet sales targets.
  • Lead the sales process as the subject matter expert, acting as the main resource and contact for prospective customers.
  • Identify cross-selling opportunities within existing accounts by collaborating with Superior's regional teams.
  • Track key performance indicators, providing regular reports on progress and achievements within the sales funnel.
  • Prepare and deliver persuasive sales proposals and business cases, negotiating and closing deals in the company's and customers' best interests.
  • Align with power generation manufacturers and packagers to optimize strategies and solutions.
  • Collaborate with General Managers, Regional Sales Managers, Sales Representatives, and Operations to execute a power generation growth strategy.
  • Support a national rental equipment partner progra
  • Champion market assessments, advising internal teams on insights and forward-thinking strategies.
  • Attend trade shows and collaborate with the Propane Education & Research Council to research new products and uncover potential opportunities.
  • Resolve issues during the lifecycle of power generation projects with input from subject matter experts and key decision-makers.
  • Ensure a seamless transition to account management teams after new customer on-boarding and project implementation.
  • Advocate Superior's safety culture and promote the company positively within the industry and communities.

What you bring:

  • Minimum of five years of progressive sales experience
  • Demonstrated success in new power generation business development
  • Demonstrated track record working with Large Enterprise level customers in multiple lines of business
  • Exceptional prospecting ("hunting") skills balanced with relationship management expertise
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Experienced in presenting proposals in-person and in virtual environments
  • Strong business acumen, with ability to develop financial and business case models
  • Strong ability to actively listen and influence
  • Superb organization, time management, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with computer skills and CRM (Microsoft Office, Salesforce, Reporting Tools)
  • Knowledge of the propane industry an asset
  • Valid Driver's License
