We are seeking a reliable and experienced Dump Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating dump trucks to transport materials across various job sites. This role requires a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and adherence to transportation regulations. Candidates with skills in forklift operation, freight handling, heavy equipment operation, and automotive repair are highly desirable to support overall operational needs.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate dump trucks to transport construction materials, debris, or other bulk loads to designated locations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations.
- Load and unload materials using forklift or other heavy equipment as needed.
- Maintain accurate logs of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption.
- Follow all safety protocols and traffic laws during transportation activities.
- Perform minor automotive repairs or troubleshooting when necessary to ensure vehicle functionality.
- Assist with freight handling and coordinate with team members to meet project deadlines.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and site personnel regarding delivery schedules and operational issues.
Experience
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for dump truck operation.
- Prior experience operating dump trucks in construction, mining, or similar industries preferred.
- Knowledge of forklift operation, freight handling, and heavy equipment operation is a plus.
- Basic automotive repair skills are advantageous for maintaining vehicle performance.
- Proven track record of safe driving practices and adherence to transportation safety standards.
- Ability to perform manual tasks such as loading/unloading and minor repairs confidently and efficiently.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.00-$30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
Work Location: In person
