Canlan Sports is currently looking for a Director of Sales for our North York Head Office

Salary Range: $90, ,000 per year.

Job Summary

The Director of Sales is responsible for driving revenue growth, shaping sales strategy, ensuring consistent execution of the Sales Playbook while keeping the Sales team highly motivated. This role indirectly manages a team of Sales Managers in collaboration with the General Managers across the enterprise and ensures they have the resources, training, support and knowledge to achieve revenue goals.

Accountabilities

The Director of Sales is accountable for:

  • Developing and implementing sales strategies, including pricing methodologies, aligned with company objectives in collaboration with Senior Operations.
  • Monitoring market trends, competitive intelligence, and customer insights to inform decision-making.
  • Taking the lead in collaborating with Canlan Sports Central's Marketing department on the development and execution of relevant marketing materials and innovative strategies to ensure proper branding and offering awareness, leveraging existing Canlan Sports assets and identifying new opportunities where possible.
  • Leading the execution and ensuring the relevancy of all in-house signage and advertising opportunities, including on-site local advertising and promotional initiatives, as well as support for central sponsorship initiatives.
  • Leading the creation of annual Sports Complex surface plans in partnership with internal stakeholders, maximizing opportunities across Adult Recreational Hockey, Community Program Initiatives, internal and external tournaments, contract holders, and special events, while driving ongoing analysis of their impact on revenue maximization.

Abilities, Attributes and Experience

  • 7-10 years sales experience, ideally with a minimum of 3 years of those years being within a sport and/or recreational environment.

  • Demonstrated leadership and the ability to motivate, coach, and manage a team working towards strategic goals.

  • Critical thinking to provide solutions matched with strong communication, consultation, and presentation skills.

  • Customer Service focus, strong follow-up skills and an ability to deal with tact, diplomacy and confidentiality.

  • Strong negotiating skills with ability to effectively turnaround objections, work around business obstacles and close sales.

  • Accounting or budget experience, including the ability to manage expenses, track revenue, and identify where areas of opportunity and weakness exist.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment with excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite,

  • Working knowledge of CRM such as HubSpot, Power BI reports, and Database Management.
