Foran Mining Corporation (TSX:FOM) is a forward-thinking mining company redefining the industry. We are seeking a
Senior Advisor Maintenance and Reliability
to join our growing McIlvenna Bay team.
This is a full-time position based at the McIlvenna Bay site working a 14/14 rotation.
Foran Mining is a modern mining development and exploration company advancing Canada's only greenfield copper project currently under construction: the McIlvenna Bay deposit in Saskatchewan. With commercial production expected in mid-2026, this world-class deposit contains copper, zinc, gold, and silver – key metals for the global transition to green energy. At Foran, we are committed to sustainable development, environmental protection, and building strong communities. We believe in empowering our people, fostering a culture of growth, and creating opportunities for meaningful careers as we build the mines of the future.
The Senior Advisor, Maintenance & Reliability plays a key role in shaping Foran's long-term asset management strategy and driving operational readiness across all sites. This position provides technical leadership and strategic direction to ensure maintenance and reliability programs are effective, data-driven, and aligned with business objectives.
Working collaboratively with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams, the Senior Advisor builds a culture of continuous improvement focused on asset performance, cost efficiency, and equipment availability. The role combines strategic planning with hands-on leadership, ensuring the systems, standards, and processes in place support safe, reliable, and sustainable operations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead asset strategy sessions with supervisors and planners to align maintenance and reliability priorities.
- Act as the main link between internal teams and external suppliers.
- Develop and maintain the company's asset management improvement plan.
- Oversee the maintenance side of Pronto Software and ensure data integrity.
- Map and document asset management processes from lifecycle planning through to reliability and work management.
- Implement core asset management standards and promote consistent, best-practice behaviours across the business.
- Apply lifecycle planning principles to asset selection, focusing on reliability, availability, maintainability, and operability.
- Ensure assets are operated within their design parameters and lead the site reliability program.
- Establish and manage an efficient work management process to support planning, scheduling, budgeting, and performance tracking.
- Produce reports and analysis on asset integrity, mean time between failures (MTBF), and support failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA).
- Implement and continuously improve reliability strategies and asset management tactics.
- Strengthen contractor management processes to reduce safety, quality, and cost risks.
- Optimize spare parts inventory levels while maintaining high equipment availability.
- Develop and manage a warranty program to capture opportunities with suppliers.
- Implement process control strategies and ensure alignment with site operations.
- Build and oversee a full battery-electric vehicle (BEV) management program covering all stages from acquisition to disposal, including charging infrastructure planning and risk assessment.
- Prepare zero-based budgets based on accurate master data that reflect asset management strategies.
- Track, analyze, and report monthly performance against asset management KPIs.
Job Qualifications and Skills:
- 10+ years of experience in maintenance planning, preventive, predictive, and reliability programs within the mining industry.
- Engineering degree or trade certification preferred.
- Experience with battery-electric vehicle (BEV) equipment is considered an asset.
- Strong understanding of asset management systems, particularly Pronto, and experience developing master data within a CMMS.
- In-depth knowledge of equipment maintenance systems, standards, and operational processes.
- Proven ability to implement and manage reliability programs, including condition-based monitoring and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Familiarity with maintenance safety standards, electrical codes, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Experience preparing and managing maintenance budgets, work schedules, and performance reports.
- Skilled in both short- and long-term maintenance planning, materials coordination, and inventory control.
Compensation and Benefits:
We offer a competitive starting salary range of $115,000 - $135,000/year based on experience and qualifications. Annual discretionary short term incentive award at a percentage of base salary, rewarding exceptional contributions to team and company success.
Our comprehensive benefits package includes:
- Employer paid health, dental, and vision insurance
- Life and disability insurance
- RSP with company match
- Camp-based position with travel support
Foran is committed to building a skilled and diverse workforce as we move into our next phase of growth. Indigenous applicants are encouraged to self-declare when submitting applications and resumes. All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; however, you must be legally able to work in Canada.
The McIlvenna Bay Project site is a drug and alcohol-free workplace. Due to the safety-sensitive nature of this position and the remote work environment, candidates must successfully complete a pre-employment medical assessment, which includes drug and alcohol testing, as a condition of employment.
