BC Place is hiring Event Host Dispatchers to support frontline dispatch operations for concerts, sporting events, and special events. This role plays a key part in delivering safe, well-coordinated event experiences by supporting routine stadium operations and emergency response through accurate information processing, system monitoring, and clear communication.
 
Event Host Dispatchers work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and are expected to demonstrate strong situational awareness, attention to detail, and professionalism. During complex or escalated incidents, Dispatchers operate under guidance and follow established procedures and protocols.
 
Hourly Rate: $35.00Union: BC Employees' General Union (BCGEU)
 
WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Receive, assess, and route incident information to appropriate responders related to guest safety and wellness

Communicate clearly and professionally with stadium operations, dispatch colleagues, security, first aid, hosting, environmental services, and maintenance teams

Accurately enter, update, and maintain incident and response records in dispatch and reporting systems on Momentus WeTrack
Monitor multiple communication channels (phone, radio, systems) to maintain situational awareness during events
Follow emergency management plans, escalation procedures, and established protocols
Provide calm, professional communication during routine and emergency situations
Support evacuations and emergency responses under direction
Maintain detailed written logs, files, and system records in accordance with procedures
Stay informed on event details, venue layouts, and operational updates
Provide accurate information to callers or direct inquiries to the appropriate department
Follow verbal and written instructions while working collaboratively in a team-based environment
Accurately enter data while simultaneously receiving information by phone or radio

WHAT YOU WILL BRING:

A strong customer-service mindset with a guest-first attitude and professional appearance
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (additional languages are an asset)
Ability to read, understand, and follow written policies, procedures, and rules
Knowledge and/or experience with Momentus WeTrack
Strong multitasking, organizational, and time-management skills
High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
Ability to remain calm, focused, and professional in stressful or emergency situations
Sound judgment and ability to follow procedures under pressure
Proficient computer and keyboarding skills
Ability to work day shifts, evenings, overnights, weekends, and statutory holidays as required
Availability to work 80% of anchor events (approximately 30 events per year)
