: Hybrid 1-2 days a week, Downtown Toronto, Ontario

Terms:
6 month contract with a possibility for extension and conversion to FTE

Schedule Hours:
Mon- Fri hrs/per week

  • (in office every weds and 3rd Friday *Mandatory. Onsite frequency are subject to change based on enterprise requirements.)

Business Systems Analyst
Interview Process:
Expecting 2 rounds of interviews. 1st round will be Hiring manager and potentially an associate. First round is to get a feel for the candidate. 2nd round will be also Microsoft teams, hosted by senior associates. Conversation will be around role responsibilities, experience and skills. Potential 3rd round if absolutely necessary. Would be in person.

About the Team:

  • Manage the technology behind online and mobile banking apps.
  • New projects coming down focusing on AI implementations. New PODs are opening to coordinate.
  • You'll be joining the Digital Technology team. You'll lead complex projects to design strategic solutions aligned to the enterprise architecture roadmap. As a Business Systems Consultant, you'll support end-to-end project implementation and act as a subject matter expert in both business and technology. You'll ideate and collaborate with a diverse team to create and build flexible, innovative solutions that deliver a best-in-class client experience.

How You'll Succeed

  • Understanding and Documenting Requirements - Work closely with Product Owners and business partners to gather complex business requirements and facilitate solution design discussions to ensure you meet project needs. Build strong relationships, lead discussions, listen and ask the right questions to ensure solutions meet requirements. It's an asset if you have experience with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies, Confluence, Jira, user story writing, Use Case Activity Diagrams and experience with Web based and mobile applications.
  • Solution Design – Work with Solution Architects and Application Consultants to deliver client-focused solutions that meet business requirements. Validate solution design documents around areas such as scope clarification, solution requirements, and quality assurance.
  • Leading and Mentoring – Support end-to-end project implementation and provide guidance to a diverse team of technology and project professionals. Maintain a collaborative work environment and support team members to resolve organizational, operational, and process problems.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Gather requirements from business units and translate those to programmers and developers.
  • Confer with clients regarding the nature of the information processing or computation needs.
  • Prepare cost-benefit and return-on-investment analyses to aid in decisions on system implementation.
  • Interview or survey workers, observe job performance or perform the job to determine what information is processed and how it is processed.
  • Coordinate and link the computer systems within an organization to increase compatibility and so information can be shared.
  • Consult with management to ensure agreement on system principles.
  • Expand or modify system to serve new purposes or improve work flow.

Must Have Requirement:

  • 8+ years of experience as a BSA with previous FI experience
  • Confluence/JIRA/MS Teams/ALM
  • Expert in use case activity diagrams and transforming use cases into stories/scenarios/acceptance criteria for Dev/QA workflow and consumption
  • Previous mobile banking experience
  • Technical acumen
  • Previous API experience
  • Computer science education

Skills:

  • Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, attention to detail and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage one's time.
  • Basic mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback.
  • Knowledge of design techniques and principles involved in production of drawings and models.
  • Knowledge of computer software, such as Visual Basic, Java, SQL, etc.

Nice to Have:

  • Willing to convert to Full Time
  • Previous banking experience
  • CBAP Certification
  • Experience working on AI projects *strong nice to have

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required. MBA or other related advanced degree preferred.
