Business Systems Analyst, Payments

Our client, a Big Five Bank is seeking an experienced BSA with strong payments and QA experience to join on a 12-month contract. This role will support upcoming payment-related initiatives.

Location
: Hybrid (2 days/week onsite)

Contract Length
: 12 months (potential for conversion)

Start Date
: ASAP

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a specialist bridging BA and QA functions within BMO's SDP payments platform.
  • Oversee high-level testing activities, managing 1,000+ test cases (manual and automated) and coordinating deployment efforts.
  • Elicit and document business requirements, analyze payment flows and identify variations.
  • Collaborate with operations, business, and support teams to ensure accuracy and efficiency across workflows.

Project Scope:

  • Portfolio enhancements
  • Annual compliance releases
  • API release requiring cross-team collaboration
  • Methodology: Waterfall, with full commitment to project phases

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 5+ years combined experience as a Business Systems Analyst (BSA) and QA professional
  • Strong knowledge of SWIFT messaging standards, including wire structures and XML formats
  • Solid technical background to bridge business requirements with system capabilities
  • Excellent communication skills; confident, inquisitive, and collaborative

Preferred Skills:

  • Understanding of market infrastructures, particularly liquidity management and payment flows
