Primary Responsibilities:

The Territory Manager position is primarily responsible for product sales to a set of customers. The Territory Manager sells product by suggesting new items, line extensions and new placements, presenting promotional opportunities and displays to store management, suggesting items for cross merchandising, identifies and pursues opportunities to increase sales of current and new items. The position also has responsibility for receiving product and/or stocking shelves. As with all positions at Tree of Life Canada we expect that all actions will be consistent with Tree of Life Canada's Mission, Vision and Values.

Essential Functions:

  • Effectuer des appels de vente, vendre et expliquer l'ensemble de produits aux magasins de détail appropriés.
  • Présenter et vendre de nouveaux articles, proposer le placement de nouveaux produits et recommander des produits pour remplacer ceux qui se vendent peu ou sont abandonnés.
  • Présenter les occasions promotionnelles possibles, et vendre des présentoirs saisonniers, du temps des Fêtes et autres afin de maximiser les revenus.
  • Utiliser son propre jugement et déployer des techniques de vente pour cerner les occasions d'affaires et accroître les ventes.
  • Examiner les étagères du magasin pour s'assurer de la présence d'étiquettes de tablette, identifier les articles abandonnés ou qui se vendent peu, et remplir et transmettre des commandes en vue du réapprovisionnement.
  • Maintenir des niveaux de stocks appropriés en retirant les produits périmés ou qui ne vendent pas, et passer de nouvelles commandes s'il y a lieu.
  • Préparer et rédiger tous les documents et rapports, dont les rapports d'activité des ventes, les cotations, les demandes de crédit et les notes de frais.
  • Participer à la réorganisation des tablettes et à la planification des activités promotionnelles et de marketing pour les clients dont il a la charge.

  • Maintenir à jour un agenda de fréquence de visite en magasin et une liste des itinéraires sur le territoire.

  • Accomplir d'autres tâches ou réaliser des projets spéciaux, lorsque demandé.
  • Faire preuve d'assiduité, mettre en œuvre des pratiques de travail sécuritaires et veiller à la confidentialité des données concernant l'entreprise

  • Conduct sales calls, merchandise and explain product set to appropriate retail store locations.

  • Present and sell new items, new placements, and recommend item replacement for slow or discontinued items.
  • Present available promotional opportunities.
  • Propose items for cross-merchandising.
  • Using independent judgment and sales techniques to recognize and increase sales.
  • Present and sell items for seasonal, holiday, or other displays to maximize revenue.
  • Check-in / receive orders. Stock, merchandise, and ensure proper placement of product.
  • Maintain adequate inventory level by removing out-of-date or un-saleable products and reorder as necessary.
  • Audit store shelves to ensure shelf tags are in place, identify slow or discontinued items, and write / transmit orders for replenishment.
  • All GAP data must be updated after every call.
  • Participate in resets and/or promotional / marketing planning for assigned customers.
  • Prepare and process all paperwork and reports including, but not limited to, sales activity reports, handwritten orders, credits, and expense reports.
  • Resolve store issues by working with store management and enlist appropriate company support.
  • Understand and react accordingly when a "sense of urgency" arises. Be action-oriented with positive results in mind.

Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude:

  • Minimum de deux (2) ans d'expérience en vente ou en marketing dans le secteur de l'alimentation ou des produits emballés destinés aux consommateurs si possibles.

  • Diplôme d'études secondaires nécessaire. Baccalauréat en affaires, en vente ou en marketing un atout.

  • Compétences techniques (être à l'aise avec les outils informatiques).Maîtrise de la suite MS Office nécessaire.
  • Permis de conduire valide, certificat d'assurance valide et autorisation de voyager nécessaires.
  • Compétences solides d'organisation et de gestion du temps, et capacité à travailler de façon autonome sans supervision directe en magasin.

  • Capacité à réaliser plusieurs tâches par ordre de priorité de façon efficace et à effectuer sans difficulté des tâches complexes tout en accomplissant les tâches courantes.

  • Intérêt marqué pour la vente, solides compétences en communication (à l'oral et à l'écrit), et de préférence bilingue anglais et francis avec des compétences de présentation supérieures à la moyenne.
  • Le bilinguisme anglais-français est requis, car le gestionnaire territorial communiquera régulièrement

    avec des collègues et des fournisseurs situés hors du Québec. Le siège social de l'entreprise se trouve à

    Mississauga (Ontario), et d'autres employés travaillent à Surrey (Colombie-Britannique) et à Calgary (Alberta).

  • Minimum of two (2) years sales/marketing experience in food sector or consumer packaged products preferred.

  • Must have High School Diploma. Proficiency in MS Office required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales or Marketing preferred.
  • Must have current and valid driver's license and proof of insurance and be able to travel.
  • Technical skills (computer literacy).
  • Should have ability to prioritize multiple tasks with high energy level, comfortable performing multi-faceted tasks in conjunction with day-to-day activities.
  • Should have strong organization and time management skills with ability to work independently without direct on-site supervision.
  • Sales oriented with strong communication skills (oral and written) and fluent in English with above average presentation skills.
  • Bilingualism in English and French is required because the Territory Manager will communicate regularly with colleagues and suppliers who work outside of Quebec. The company's head office is in the Mississauga, Ontario and other colleagues work in Surrey, B.C. and the Calgary, AB offices.
