Reports to:
Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Direct Reports:
1 (FP&A Analyst)

We are seeking a hands-on, entrepreneurial
Director of FP&A
to build and lead our planning, forecasting, and performance management capabilities in a fast-pace, manufacturing environment. You will report directly to the CFO and partner closely with Corporate Finance, Finance Operations, and the leadership team to drive financial rigor, support strategic decisions, and accelerate business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities :

Planning and Forecasting :

  • Lead the annual budget process and quarterly re-forecast cycles end-to-end, including calendar, methodology, consolidation, and executive/Board-ready deliverables.
  • Develop and maintain robust driver-based financial models that accurately reflect business dynamics across revenue, margin, operating expenses, cash flow, and working capital.

Performance Management and Reporting :

  • Own monthly performance packages, Board and investor reporting, and management dashboards; clearly articulate drivers of performance and actionable insights.
  • Partner with Corporate Finance and Finance Operations to explain variances to budget/forecast and develop corrective action plans.
  • Design, implement, and monitor a focused KPI framework that drives accountability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.

Cost and Margin Management :

  • Monitor costs and margins of our solutions from customer quote through NPI/product development to ramp and mass production; ensure quoted cost models and target margins are achieved.
  • Partner with Engineering, Operations, and Commercial teams to validate cost assumptions at gate reviews, flag risks early, and drive corrective actions to protect unit economics.

Strategic Finance and Investments :

  • Lead financial analysis for acquisitions (M&A), strategic projects, grants, and capital investments, including business cases, sensitivities, and post-mortems.
  • Support leadership with scenario planning, pricing/mix analysis, unit economics, and profitability improvement initiatives.

Systems, Tools, and Process Excellence :

  • Build or optimize FP&A systems, forecasting tools, and data pipelines; champion automation, standardization, and scalability.
  • Enhance the close-to-forecast cadence and data integrity in partnership with Accounting, Finance Ops, and IT/Systems.
  • Leverage EPICOR (ERP) and BOARD (EPM) to streamline data flows, improve reporting quality, and enable driver-based planning.

Leadership :

  • Manage, mentor, and develop a junior FP&A analyst; set clear goals, elevate analytical quality, and foster a high-trust, high-performance culture.
  • Operate as a thought partner to the CFO and leadership team—bringing clarity, rigor, and an owner's mindset.

What You Bring :

Language and Experience :

  • Bilingual: English and French (required).
  • 10+ years of progressive finance experience, ideally within a fast-growing manufacturing environment.

Mindset and Leadership :

  • Entrepreneurial, builder mindset—comfortable with ambiguity and evolving structures; able to create clarity and rigor from complexity.
  • Positive, forward-looking approach that turns challenges into opportunities; you make things work with the tools at hand.
  • Excellent managerial skills: you lead by example, foster trust, and elevate team performance.

Technical Expertise :

  • Proven experience building or optimizing financial systems and driving automation/efficiency.
  • Deep knowledge of cash flow and working capital management.
  • Hands-on experience with budgeting, forecasting, and Board/investor reporting.
  • Exposure to multi-currency, multi-entity operations.
  • Tech-forward orientation; proficiency with Excel modeling, and strong familiarity with BI and data tools.
  • CPA designation is highly preferred (but we're open to discussion based on experience and skills).
  • Experience with ERP systems; EPICOR and BOARD experience an asset.

Success in the First 12 Months :

  • Deliver a disciplined, on-time budget and re-forecast process with clear assumptions and variance narratives.
  • Stand up a streamlined Board/investor reporting package with consistent KPIs and insights.
  • Implement improvements to FP&A systems/tools (leveraging EPICOR and BOARD) that reduce manual effort and cycle time.
  • Establish a cash flow and working capital cadence with actionable levers for the business.
  • Build a high-performing FP&A function—elevating the junior analyst and enhancing cross-functional trust.

Compensation and Benefits :

  • Competitive salary and performance-based bonus
  • Comprehensive benefits package
  • Professional development opportunities (including CPA support if applicable)
