Résumé du poste
Le/la directeur(trice) du merchandising dirigera l'ensemble des fonctions de merchandising et de planification chez Lolë, incluant l'architecture de collection, la stratégie produit, les assortiments saisonniers, les prévisions et la planification financière. Cette personne travaillera en étroite collaboration avec les équipes Design, Production, Marketing et Ventes afin de bâtir une stratégie produit centrée sur le consommateur et guidée par les données, qui soutiendra la croissance des canaux retail, e-commerce et wholesale.
Ce rôle nécessite un leadership visionnaire alliant intuition créative et rigueur analytique, capable de transformer l'orientation de la marque et les insights consommateurs en une offre produit équilibrée et rentable. Le/la directeur(trice) du merchandising jouera un rôle central dans la gestion du cycle de vie du produit — du concept initial jusqu'à la performance en marché.
Responsabilités principales
Leadership en merchandising
- Développer et piloter la stratégie de merchandising globale et les plans de collection saisonniers pour toutes les catégories.
- Concevoir des assortiments centrés sur le consommateur, équilibrant innovation, objectifs de marge et identité de marque.
- Gérer l'architecture des catégories, la stratégie de prix, l'efficacité des SKU et l'optimisation du portefeuille produit.
- Diriger les analyses de marché, la recherche de tendances produits et la veille concurrentielle pour éclairer les décisions stratégiques.
Collaboration interfonctionnelle
- Collaborer avec le Design pour aligner les concepts créatifs sur les priorités commerciales et les besoins consommateurs.
- Travailler étroitement avec la Production sur l'ingénierie des coûts, la gestion du calendrier et l'atteinte des objectifs de marge.
- Collaborer avec le Marketing pour s'assurer que les plans go-to-market reflètent les histoires produits clés, les priorités saisonnières et les moteurs de revenus.
- Soutenir les équipes Ventes et E-commerce dans les stratégies d'assortiment, l'identification des items clés et les besoins spécifiques à chaque canal.
- Maintenir une communication fluide entre tous les départements afin d'assurer l'alignement sur les échéanciers, les briefs produits et la stratégie de lancement.
Planification et partenariats financiers
- Collaborer à la planification du merchandising, aux prévisions et aux analyses de la demande sur tous les canaux.
- Définir les objectifs financiers saisonniers, incluant les ventes, la marge et les niveaux d'inventaire.
- Piloter la gestion en cours de saison : analyses de performance, révisions de prévisions, optimisation des inventaires et stratégies de fin de cycle.
- Mettre en place des indicateurs de performance (KPI) et des cadres de reporting pour soutenir une prise de décision basée sur les données.
Leadership d'équipe
- Diriger, coacher et développer une équipe performante en merchandising et planification.
- Favoriser une culture d'imputabilité, de collaboration et d'amélioration continue.
- Mettre en place des processus et outils clairs pour renforcer la prévision, la création produit et la communication interfonctionnelle.
Qualifications
- 10 à 15 années d'expérience en merchandising et planification dans des marques de vêtements, d'activewear, d'outdoor ou de lifestyle.
- Succès démontré dans la gestion des assortiments et du cycle de vie produit.
- Solide sens financier avec expérience en prévisions, planification et gestion de marge.
- Capacité reconnue à bâtir des partenariats interfonctionnels (Design, Production, Marketing, Ventes, Leadership).
- Compétences éprouvées en insights consommateurs, analyse de données et interprétation des tendances du marché.
- Excellentes aptitudes en communication, leadership et présentation.
- Expérience dans une organisation internationale matricielle (un atout).
- Bilingue : les clients sont basés au Québec comme au Canada.

Position Summary
The Director of Merchandising will lead the end-to-end merchandising and planning functions for Lolë, overseeing line architecture, product strategy, seasonal assortments, forecasting, and financial planning. This leader will partner closely with Design, Production, Marketing, and Sales to build a customer-centric, data-driven product strategy that fuels growth across retail, e-commerce, and wholesale channels.
This role requires a visionary leader with both creative intuition and analytical rigor, capable of translating brand direction and consumer insights into a profitable, well-balanced product assortment. The Director of Merchandising will play a central role in guiding the product lifecycle from early concept through in-market performance.
Key Responsibilities
Merchandising Leadership
- Develop and own the global merchandising strategy and seasonal line plans across categories.
- Create consumer-driven assortments that balance innovation, margin goals, and brand identity.
- Manage category architecture, pricing strategy, SKU efficiency, and product portfolio optimization.
- Lead market analysis, product trend research, and competitive insights to inform strategic decisions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with
Design
to align creative concepts with commercial priorities and consumer needs. - Work closely with
Production
on cost engineering, calendar management, and margin targets. - Collaborate with
Marketing
to ensure go-to-market plans reflect key product stories, seasonal priorities, and revenue drivers. - Support
Sales and E-Commerce
teams with assortment strategies, key item identification, and channel-specific needs. - Maintain strong communication across all departments to ensure alignment on timelines, product briefs, and launch strategy.
Planning & Financial Partnership
- Partner with merchandise planning, forecasting, and demand analysis for all channels.
- Set seasonal financial targets, including sales, margin, and inventory levels.
- Lead in-season management: performance analysis, re-forecasting, inventory optimization, and end-of-life strategies.
- Establish KPIs and reporting frameworks to drive data-based decision-making.
Team Leadership
- Direct, coach, and develop a high-performing merchandising and planning team.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Build clear processes and tools that enhance forecasting, product creation, and cross-functional communication.
Qualifications
- 10–15 years of merchandising and planning experience within apparel, activewear, outdoor, or lifestyle brands.
- Demonstrated success leading assortment strategy and product lifecycle management.
- Strong financial acumen with experience in forecasting, planning, and margin management.
- Proven ability to build cross-functional partnerships with Design, Production, Marketing, Sales, and Leadership.
- Skilled in consumer insights, data analytics, and market trend interpretation.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and presentation skills.
- Experience in a global matrixed organization preferred.
