Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Vac Truck Driver to join our team at Storm Guard. This role is vital for servicing our equipment that keeps our customer's sites on schedule. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, the ability to operate manual transmission trucks, and the willingness to learn a specialized vac truck service. You will be working in a dynamic environment, requiring working outside in varying weather conditions, while ensuring safety and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely drive and operate a manual transmission vac truck to remove sediment from the company's water treatment equipment.
  • Operate vac truck systems to remove and transport sludge, waste, and other materials, ensuring safe disposal in compliance with provincial and city regulations.
  • Perform regular maintenance and cleaning of vac truck equipment.
  • Operate a pressure washer, ranging between PSI, to clean tanks, equipment, and other machinery as required.
  • Work at heights, including on top of tanks, while ensuring relevant safety protocols are strictly followed.
  • Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure all equipment is in safe working order.
  • Maintain proper documentation and logs, including work completed, hours worked, and any incidents or issues encountered during work.
  • Collaborate with other team members and supervisors to ensure the completion of projects on time and within safety guidelines.
  • Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and environmental regulations at all times.

Qualifications:

  • MUST: Experience driving manual transmission trucks is required (Class 3).
  • A valid driver's license, with a clean driving record, is required.
  • Prior experience with operating a vac truck is a plus, but not mandatory; training will be provided for those willing to learn.
  • Ability to safely operate pressure washers ranging between PSI.
  • Must be physically capable of lifting and pulling up to 50 lbs of weight.
  • Comfortable working at heights of 8 feet on tanks and other structures.
  • Ability to work in physically demanding conditions, including standing for long periods, bending, and climbing.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions (hot, cold, rainy, etc.).
  • Willingness to work overtime, including evenings and weekends when necessary.
  • Strong communication skills and a commitment to team collaboration.

Other Important Information:

· Our standard working hours are Monday to Friday, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 p.m. PT. We are also open to discussing a 4x10 workweek option with the successful candidate.

· We operate a Tandem Vac Truck with a GVW of 26332 kg/58000 lbs. and a total length of 30-32ft.

· This role involves 2-3 daily trips between construction sites and our dump site, all located within the Lower Mainland.

Pay Range: CAD 36-38 per hour (with room for further growth)
