The Opportunity
BC Ferries is seeking a skilled Quality Assurance Test Analyst to join our Information Technology team. This role will enhance our testing capacity and technical capability, supporting both BC Ferries' key project initiatives and ongoing sustainment efforts.
You will play a vital role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of BC Ferries' technology solutions — helping us deliver exceptional service experiences for our employees and customers alike.
The Role
Reporting to the Quality Assurance Test Manager, you add value by key areas of oversight such as:
- Developing and executing test cases for enterprise software upgrades, integrations, and SaaS implementations.
- Performing functional, integration, regression, and system testing for applications such as ERP, IAM, fleet management, and finance platforms.
- Validating API integrations (REST, SOAP, GraphQL) using tools like Postman or REST Assured.
- Conducting database validation tests using SQL queries to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Logging and tracking defects using industry-standard tools such as JIRA, Zephyr, Azure DevOps, or TestRail.
- Working within an Agile/Scrum team to refine requirements and contribute to sprint planning.
- Collaborating with developers and business stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve issues.
- Assisting in performance and security testing where applicable.
What you bring to the team
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in software testing, preferably in enterprise IT environments.
- Strong understanding of API testing, database validation, and system integrations.
- Hands-on experience with testing tools like Postman, JIRA, Zephyr, Selenium, Cypress, or TestRail.
- Experience working with Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban.
- Solid knowledge of SQL and database testing techniques.
- Familiarity with test automation frameworks is a plus.
- Experience testing cloud-based SaaS applications is a strong asset.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
- ISTQB certification or equivalent is an asset.

Additional information
The target salary range: $66,300 - $82,800 per annum. The starting salary is determined based on the successful candidate's knowledge, experience and internal equity.
