The RoleAs the Operations Manager, Forestry, you will lead a dedicated team responsible for all Planning, GIS, and First Nations relations activities for the Business Area, ensuring compliance with provincial regulations and best practices. You'll play a pivotal role in promoting sustainable forestry practices that bring economic benefits to local communities while creating important relationships with local First Nations. Although our Business Area Office is located on Northern Vancouver Island, we have operating areas within the Great Bear Rainforest that are only accessible by boat, helicopter or seaplanes, which can make for an epic workday. Check out the BCTS website for more information about the program.Qualifications:Education and Experience RequirementsDegree or diploma in resource management, public administration, aboriginal studies or equivalent and five years of related experience.Experience in program administration including allocating resources, leading and coaching diverse teams, supervising staff and in strategic business planning, procurement and financial management.Experience developing and maintaining working relationships with stakeholders in natural resource management or infrastructure development.Experience with resolving problems through negotiation with stakeholders.Must possess at minimum a valid Class 5 B.C.
