Position Title
: Purchasing Manager
Position Summary
The Purchasing Manager will lead and oversee all purchasing activities to ensure the timely, cost-effective, and high-quality supply of materials and services for our operations. This position supervises a team consisting of two Buyers, balancing daily purchasing operations with strategic purchasing initiatives.
Given the wide range of products involved – from raw chemicals to laboratory consumables and electrical measuring instruments – this role requires strong supplier management, contract negotiation, and problem-solving skills in an international environment.
The Manager will also be responsible for ensuring professional, respectful, and transparent communication within the team, with suppliers, and across departments. An essential part of this role is implementing and maintaining daily performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor compliance, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and mentor a team of 2 Buyers, ensuring efficiency, growth, and accountability.
- Oversee day-to-day purchasing operations, including purchase order creation, stock level review, lead time updates, and ETA responses to internal stakeholders.
- Support strategic, high-value projects, ensuring timely and compliant supply of materials and services.
- Collaborate closely with Production, Quality, Service, Logistics, and Engineering to align supply chain strategies with business needs.
- Implement, monitor, and report on daily KPIs to track performance and compliance across the department.
- Ensure proper ERP data accuracy and reporting (SyteLine knowledge is an asset; SAP expertise strongly preferred).
- Promote a respectful, solution-oriented work environment and effective communication across all levels.
- Stay informed on market trends, supplier performance, and risks to anticipate and mitigate supply chain challenges.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
- 8–10 years of experience in Procurement or Purchasing, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial role.
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills with international suppliers.
- Experience in manufacturing, ideally in chemicals, pharmaceuticals, or laboratory products.
- Experience in implementing and monitoring KPIs for operational performance.
- Solid knowledge of ERP systems (SyteLine is an asset; SAP expertise strongly preferred).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Bilingual (English and French) required.
- Availability for occasional travel as business needs require.

Le gestionnaire des achats est responsable de diriger et de superviser toutes les activités liées aux achats afin d'assurer un approvisionnement efficace, rentable et de qualité pour nos opérations. Ce poste encadre une équipe composée de deux acheteurs, en équilibrant les opérations quotidiennes d'achat.
Compte tenu de la vaste gamme de produits – allant des matières premières chimiques aux consommables de laboratoire et instruments électriques de mesure – ce rôle exige une solide expertise en gestion de fournisseurs, en négociation de contrats et en résolution de problèmes dans un environnement international.
Le gestionnaire doit également s'assurer que la communication interne et externe se fasse toujours de manière professionnelle, respectueuse et transparente. Une partie essentielle de ce poste consiste à mettre en place et suivre des indicateurs de performance quotidiens (KPIs) afin de mesurer l'efficacité, le respect des processus et l'amélioration continue.
Responsabilités principales
- Encadrer et développer une équipe de 2 acheteurs, en favorisant la performance et la responsabilisation.
- Superviser les opérations quotidiennes d'achat : création de bons de commande, suivi des stocks, mise à jour des délais, communication des ETA aux parties prenantes internes.
- Soutenir les projets stratégiques de haute valeur, en garantissant la conformité technique, réglementaire et des délais.
- Collaborer étroitement avec la production, la qualité, le service, la logistique et l'ingénierie pour aligner les stratégies d'approvisionnement avec les besoins de l'entreprise.
- Mettre en place, suivre et rapporter quotidiennement les KPIs pour mesurer la performance du département.
- Garantir l'exactitude des données et la documentation dans l'ERP (SyteLine est un atout; expertise SAP fortement préférée).
- Promouvoir un climat de travail respectueux, orienté vers les solutions, et une communication efficace à tous les niveaux.
- Suivre l'évolution du marché, les performances fournisseurs et les risques afin d'anticiper et de réduire les impacts sur la chaîne d'approvisionnement.
Qualifications
- Diplôme universitaire en gestion de la chaîne d'approvisionnement, administration des affaires, ingénierie ou domaine connexe.
- 8–10 ans d'expérience en achats ou approvisionnement, dont 3–5 ans dans un rôle de gestion.
- Expérience avérée dans la supervision et le développement d'équipes performantes.
- Solides compétences en négociation et en gestion de contrats avec des fournisseurs internationaux.
- Expérience en environnement manufacturier, de préférence dans les produits chimiques, pharmaceutiques ou de laboratoire.
- Expérience dans la mise en place et le suivi de KPIs quotidiens.
- Connaissance approfondie des ERP (SyteLine est un atout; expertise SAP fortement préférée).
- Excellentes aptitudes en communication, interpersonnelles et en résolution de problèmes.
- Bilinguisme (français et anglais) requis.
- Disponibilité pour des déplacements occasionnels selon les besoins.
