As a Human Resources/Health & Safety Administrator, you will provide administrative and technical support to the Health and Safety and Human Resources Department.

Under administrative review, is responsible for initiating and coordinating the administrative and technical functions required in effective implementation of administrative policies. This position consists of support work which involves moderate complex work methods and problem solving and requires skilled techniques. You will receive guidance from the Human Resources Manager.

Human Resource:

  • Assist with recruitment and hiring processes, including posting job ads, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and conducting reference checks.
  • Participate in new hire orientation and assist with onboarding processes.
  • Assist with the maintenance of employee records and files.
  • Assist with benefits administration, including enrollment and termination of employee benefits.
  • Assist with the coordination of employee events and recognition programs.
  • Help to maintain HR policies and procedures in compliance with employment laws and regulations.
  • Assist with HR-related projects, such as employee engagement surveys and policy development.
  • Provide support to HR team members as needed.

Health & Safety:

  • Participate in the ongoing development, communication, and implementation of existing and new safety programs and policies based on the needs of the business.
  • Develop, maintain, and deliver necessary safety training including annual refresher training and onboarding.
  • Manage with the help of Human Resource Manager and oversee the Joint Health & Safety Committee program.
  • Work with the teams to develop programs that identify and eliminate violations/hazards at the workplace.
  • Reviews all accident/incident reports and recommends corrective actions.
  • Ensure implementation of emergency evacuation and pandemic plans and the plans are updated as necessary.
  • Carry out the responsibilities outlined in procedures that are applicable to this role as indicated in the Health & Safety guidelines manual to ensures safety plant rules, housekeeping standards are followed and the use of required personal protective equipment.
  • Perform other duties and provide work direction to other staff as necessary.
