We are seeking a part-time detail-oriented Payroll Assistant to support our property management portfolio. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate payroll processing for on-site and head office staff.

The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, multi-property environment and demonstrate a high level of confidentiality, accuracy, and organization.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll Support

  • Assist with the processing of payroll for property-based, head office and field employees (e.g., caretakers, maintenance staff, administrators)
  • Maintain and update employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, job changes, and deductions
  • Support payroll reconciliations, remittances, and year-end activities (T4s, ROEs as required)
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies
  • Ensure payroll compliance with employment standards and applicable legislation
  • Enter and verify timesheets, pay rates, deductions, and adjustments
  • Maintain accurate payroll and employee records
  • Assist with payroll reports, audits, and reconciliations

Qualifications & Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in accounting, business, or related field preferred
  • 1–2 years of payroll, accounting, or administrative experience preferred
  • Knowledge of payroll legislation and statutory deductions
  • Proficiency with payroll systems and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • High level of confidentiality and professionalism
