Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated In Home Caregiver to provide essential support to individuals in their homes. The ideal candidate will have experience in various caregiving settings and possess the skills necessary to assist clients with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. This role requires a commitment to delivering high-quality care while fostering a supportive and nurturing environment.

Duties

  • Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Provide personal care including patient monitoring and vital signs assessment.
  • Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning and preparation tailored to individual dietary needs.
  • Maintain a clean and safe living environment by performing light housekeeping tasks.
  • Support clients with mobility assistance, including the use of Hoyer lifts when necessary.
  • Administer medications as per care plans and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being, particularly for those with Alzheimer's or dementia.
  • Document care provided and any changes in client condition accurately in care plans.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and other caregivers to ensure comprehensive care delivery.

Experience

Candidates should possess the following experience or skills:

  • First aid and CPR certification is preferred.
  • Previous experience in home health, assisted living, nursing homes, or group home settings is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with patient observation techniques and monitoring vital signs.
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is a plus.
  • Knowledge of dementia care practices and memory care strategies is beneficial.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by client needs.
