Job Cost Accountant

The Job Cost Accountant (JCA) provides advanced accounting and analysis in support of construction operations. Reporting to the General Manager, the JCA helps to provide all elements of financial reporting and analysis for the various business units. Primary functions are the timely reporting of Job Costing, Equipment Costing, Purchase orders and inventory management. Cash flow analysis, banking and other financial functions may also be part of the JCA's responsibilities.

Supporting the various project lines of Neetah Construction and Western Infrastructure, the JCA's main priority will be to provide Job Costing information to BU Managers and Supervisors with as needed reporting and information. The JCA needs to be a spreadsheet and enterprise accounting system champion, developing systems, implementing processes and creating reports for distribution. The JCA needs to combine knowledge of accounting practices and procedures and civil construction knowledge to analyze and provide business insight into operations to help champion business efficiency and growth.

A successful candidate will have background/education in the following areas:

· Knowledge or Background in utilization of Enterprise (ERP) based accounting systems

· Able to manage and perform basic accounting functions and accrual accounting principles

· Understanding of Job Costing systems and Outcomes

· Experience managing costing for construction equipment and assets

· Very good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel

· Background in business financial forecasting and modelling.

· Ensure accurate financial statement reporting.

The role of Job cost accounting is a year round construction support role, that requires some workday/workweek flexibility depending on the situation. Typical heavy workload April through October with slower winter months.
