Sr. Network Security Engineer

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and manage network security solutions including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and secure gateways.
  • Monitor network traffic to identify unusual activity, attacks, or vulnerabilities.
  • Maintain and configure firewall policies, access control lists (ACLs), and routing policies.
  • Implement and support security protocols such as SSL/TLS, IPsec, and 802.1X.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and risk mitigation.
  • Respond to and resolve security incidents and breaches in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, PCI-DSS.
  • Manage network segmentation, zero-trust frameworks, and identity-based access.
  • Maintain and update security documentation, diagrams, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with IT and engineering teams to enhance overall security posture.
  • Evaluate new security tools and technologies to strengthen network defenses.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong experience with network security devices, including:
  • Firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA, Check Point)
  • IDS/IPS systems
  • Web/Email security gateways
  • Proficiency in network technologies:
  • Routing & switching (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP)
  • VLANs, VPNs, MPLS, SD-WAN
  • Knowledge of security frameworks and standards (NIST, ISO, CIS).
  • Hands-on experience with SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar, Elastic, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and network protocols.
  • Ability to analyze packet captures using tools like Wireshark.
  • Scripting skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell) are a plus.
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and problem-solving skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00-$130,000.00 per year
