Job Description

Senior Piping / Layout Designer

Description:

Reporting to the Drafting Manager, the Senior Piping / Layout Designer is an integral part of the drafting and design team.

Responsibilities:

  • Check and update P&IDs.

  • Create accurate 3D layout and piping models.

  • Take the lead in 3D model reviews.

  • Check and approve vendor-supplied drawings.

  • Produce fabrication isometric drawings.

  • Create and detail general arrangement drawings.

  • Create pressure vessel models and fabrication details.

  • Assist piping checker as needed.

  • Mentor junior and intermediate designers.

  • Create and maintain drawing standards.

  • Make recommendations for process and efficiency improvements.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in piping and layout design.

  • Proficient in the use of Cadworx 3D software and AutoCAD (2D and 3D).

  • Strong knowledge of Isogen for spool generation.

  • Strong understanding of plant processes and layout principles.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
