The Role: Senior Accountant Technician
As a Senior Accounting Technician at Entreflow, you're the financial backbone for our clients owning everything from daily transactions to polished financial statements. Each month, you'll ensure the books are accurate, complete, and ready for review by the 5th of the month, empowering our Controllers and CFO Consultants to deliver exceptional insights. You're not just managing numbers, you're building clarity, confidence, and strategy for ambitious businesses. You'll mentor Accounting Technicians, elevate team performance, and continuously refine processes.
As you grow, you'll begin managing your own client portfolio, leading financial meeting prep, and developing your advisory and leadership skills on the path toward a Controller-level role.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain complete accuracy and integrity from data entry through financial statement preparation.
- Ensure month-end close is completed by the 5th of the month, so our leadership team can deliver high-impact financial insights to clients.
- Oversee all client accounting systems including Quickbooks Online, Xero, Hubdoc, DEXT, ensuring receipts and transactions are uploaded weekly and that workflows are efficient.
- Stay in tune with client feedback, questions, and updates to ensure we consistently deliver top-tier service.
- Review your own work critically and bring forward solutions and process improvements.
- Manage your client files efficiently, ensuring deliverables meet deadlines and stay within scope.
- Continuously look for opportunities to streamline and standardize processes across clients using technology and automation.
- Provide troubleshooting, support, and proactive advice for clients and team members.
- Understand each client's broader business activities, taxes, plans, and forecasts so your accounting work always reflects the bigger picture.
- Master the software tools you use (both internal and client-facing) and maintain relevant certifications.
- Maintain clear, detailed, and up-to-date process documentation for all your tasks.
Requirements
- 5+ years of full-cycle accounting experience.
- Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business
- Working towards your Canadian CPA Designation
- Self-motivated, collaboratively focused
- A willingness to constantly learn
- Attention to detail
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Strong technical accounting skills and understanding
- Tech Savvy (Experience using QuickBooks Online and/or Xero cloud accounting software an asset)
- Experience with data analysis, financial statement analysis, financial planning, and reporting an asset.
- Experience in Canadian sales tax (GST/HST,PST etc.) is an asset
