Job description

Our client is a reputable full-service law firm with over 70 lawyers and multiple offices across Ontario. They are currently looking for an experienced Employment Lawyer to join their Employment Law Group.

Your new role

In this new role you will be required to handle many files through the litigation process both independently and as a member of an experienced team. Conduct legal research and analysis on various legal issues. Prepare and draft legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and pleadings. Represent clients in proceedings including mediations, examinations, pre-trial, and trials. Provide legal advice and guidance to clients. Review and analyze legal documents for accuracy and compliance. Collaborate with colleagues and other professionals to develop legal strategies.

What you will need to succeed

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' experience in non-union employment law, with a comprehensive understanding of relevant provincial and federal legislation, including the Employment Standards Act, Canada Labour Code, Human Rights Code, and Occupational Health and Safety Act. They should be proficient in drafting and reviewing various documents, such as employment agreements, demand letters, and termination letters. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, as is the ability to manage files independently.
