We are looking for an experienced Paralegal to join us. As a member of our Qualiy and Risk Management team, you will report directly to – and work closely with – the Senior Legal Advisor, Ethics and Risk Management to support managing risk management matters generally related to KPMG Law LLP. Your organizational skills, initiative, and strong work ethic will allow you to coordinate and meet the deadlines of multiple matters. This is a hybrid position. What You Will Do Supporting the Senior Legal Advisor, Ethics and Risk Management on a number of projects related to the rules which regulate the legal profession and law firms across Canada, including on areas related to ethics, conflicts of interest, joint retainers, privilege, ethical dividers, contingency fee agreements, professionalism, privilege, trust accounts, client identification and verification, risk management, practice management, and related topics. Updating and reviewing practice management resources and risk management policies. Collaborating with the team of conflict resolvers to support the day-to-day operation of the firm’s conflict of interest process and ethical dividers. Working on the conflicts and compliance processes related to lawyer onboarding and offboarding. Preparing and delivering presentations on risk management and law society regulatory issues. Reviewing law society professionalism and practice management resources. Researching and drafting memos on areas related to ethics and risk management. What You Bring To The Role Certificate in Law or Paralegal Diploma combined with experience as a paralegal. A minimum of five (5) years’ experience as a Paralegal. Strong bilingual (French and English) communication skills, both written and verbal, are required. Advanced computer skills are required. Excellent organizational/follow up skills; attention to detail, proofreading and accuracy are required. Excellent time management skills; ability to effectively manage conflicting requirements and priorities. Demonstrated ability to handle privileged and confidential information with sensitivity and discretion. A positive, enthusiastic, and teamwork approach to day-to-day workflow is considered an asset. Ability to work well both autonomously and as part of a team. Self‑motivated to achieve high standards in all aspects of work. Strong interpersonal and client service skills. This position requires written and oral fluency in English. The successful candidate may be required to support or collaborate with English‑speaking colleagues or stakeholders while at KPMG. The successful candidate may be required to create, interpret and/or apply policies, practices, laws and and/or regulations during the regular course of their employment. KPMG Ontario Region Pay Range Information The expected base salary range for this position is $55,00 to $82,000 and may be eligible for bonus awards. The determination of an applicant’s base salary within this range is based on the individual’s location, skills & competencies, and unique qualifications. In addition, KPMG offers a comprehensive and competitive Total Rewards program.
