Role Description
This is a full-time on-site position for a Food Safety Consultant, located in Surrey, BC. The role involves collaborating with clients in the food and beverage manufacturing industry to develop, implement, and maintain HACCP-based food safety management systems. Responsibilities include conducting internal and supplier audits, preparing for and assisting with CFIA and GFSI audits, developing Preventive Control Plans (PCP), assisting with certifications such as gluten-free and kosher, providing quality assurance support, and ensuring compliance with food safety standards and regulations.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of Food Science and the Food Industry, with a deep understanding of its regulations and best practices.
- Proficiency in Quality Assurance and Food Safety, with experience in implementing HACCP-based systems and food safety protocols.
- Expertise in Quality Auditing, including internal, supplier, and regulatory audits (e.g., CFIA, GFSI).
- Ability to conduct Root Cause Analysis and implement Corrective and Preventive Actions effectively after critical food safety incidents.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and attention to detail are essential.
- Relevant education in food science, microbiology, or a related field is preferred; experience in the food safety sector is highly desirable.
- Certification in HACCP, GFSI (e.g., BRCGS), or relevant food safety programs is a plus.
