Role
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
CoolIT Systems is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to lead its Technical Sales Engineering team. As the Manager of Technical Sales, you will play a critical role in shaping the strategic direction of the team and driving business growth in the hyperscale, colocation, and server OEM markets. This role offers the opportunity to lead a talented team of Technical Sales Engineers and contribute directly to the company's success by fostering innovation, developing relationships, and ensuring exceptional customer experiences.
Responsibilities
Leadership and Team Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Technical Sales Engineering team to achieve individual and organizational goals.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and high performance.
- Build and implement training programs to enhance team expertise in liquid cooling technology and industry best practices.
Strategic Business Development
- Partner with the Business Development team to identify and pursue growth opportunities in hyperscale, colocation, and other key segments.
- Collaborate with customers during early conceptual product planning, providing strategic guidance to mitigate technical and commercial risks.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration to deliver winning proposals and presentations tailored to client needs.
Customer Relationship Management
- Act as the senior escalation point for complex customer engagements, ensuring satisfaction and trust in CoolIT's
- Represent CoolIT as an industry expert, participating in forums such as OCP and ASHRAE TC9.9 to elevate the company's profile.
- Ensure the team consistently delivers high-quality collateral and insights that reinforce CoolIT's position as a leader in liquid cooling technology.
Operational Excellence
- Develop and refine processes, tools, and templates that streamline operations and enhance the team's ability to meet customer needs.
- Track and analyze key performance metrics to ensure alignment with company objectives.
- Oversee adherence to company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Innovation and Expertise
- Stay at the forefront of liquid cooling technologies and data center thermal trends to guide product innovation and strategic direction.
- Encourage the team to leverage 3D CAD renders, simulations, and analyses to create impactful customer proposals.
Travel Requirements
- Willingness to travel internationally up to 20% to support team initiatives, customer engagements, and industry events.
Who You Are
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering
- Minimum of 4 years of customer facing business development experience
- Legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead and inspire technical sales teams in a fast-paced, innovative environment
- Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of data center thermal management technologies, including Coolant Distribution Units and Cold Plate Loops
- Customer Focus: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust and credibility with diverse stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in mechanical engineering
- Experience managing a team
- P.Eng. designation with APEGA
- Both technical and business development experience

- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with experience presenting to high-level stakeholders.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with hyperscale, colocation, and OEM markets, as well as participation in relevant industry groups.
