Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our team.

We are seeking candidates of all levels of education and/or experience to fill a part time position in our centre. The position is a minimum of 16 hours a week with additional hours offered as needed.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and a commitment to fostering a safe and nurturing environment. This role involves engaging with children in various activities, ensuring their well-being, and supporting their developmental needs. The candidate will work closely with children of different ages, including those with disabilities, to promote inclusive learning experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development.
  • Create a safe, welcoming, and stimulating environment for all children.
  • Assist with daily routines including meals, nap times, and playtime.
  • Implement educational programs that cater to the individual needs of each child.
  • Communicate effectively with parents about their child's progress and any concerns.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization within the childcare space.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to support children with disabilities and ensure inclusive practices.
  • Observe and document children's behavior and development for assessment purposes.

Qualifications

  • Ability to pass a criminal background and vulnerable sector check.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain one.
  • Previous classroom experience or background in early childhood education is preferred.
  • Experience working with children, particularly those with disabilities, is highly valued.
  • Strong teaching skills with the ability to engage children in meaningful activities.
  • A nurturing demeanor with excellent caregiving abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $16.50-$33.12 per hour

Expected hours: 16 per week
