Web Application Developer

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and innovative Web Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality web applications and websites. This role requires a strong foundation in both front-end and back-end development, with an emphasis on creating responsive, user-friendly interfaces and robust server-side solutions. The Web Developer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and efficient digital solutions that meet business objectives and enhance user experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years' experience working with full stack, big data web applications and Dev-Ops tools such as: Django/Python, Apache Airflow, PostgreSQL, PostGIS, TimescaleDB, VueJS, JavaScript, Ajax, Docker, Git, Ansible, and Linux.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and deploy web applications using technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Angular, React, , and related frameworks.
• Build and maintain server-side components utilizing languages like Java, Python, PHP, C#, or Ruby on Rails.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs and web services to facilitate seamless data exchange across platforms.
• Manage databases including MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, SQL Server, and SQLite; optimize queries for performance.
• Integrate third-party services such as SOAP, GraphQL, and other APIs to extend application functionality.
• Implement data visualization features to present complex data insights effectively.
• Utilize version control tools like GitHub, SVN, or Visual Studio for code management.
• Set up and maintain development environments using Docker, Jenkins, Ansible, or similar DevOps tools.
• Collaborate in Agile/Scrum teams using Trello or Jira for project management.
• Ensure website SEO best practices are followed to improve visibility.
• Conduct unit testing and code reviews to ensure code quality and reliability.
• Participate in SDLC processes from planning through deployment and maintenance.
• Work with UI/UX teams to create intuitive interfaces that enhance user engagement.

Experience

• Proven experience in full-stack web development with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
• Proficiency in front-end technologies: HTML5, CSS3 (including SCSS), JavaScript (including jQuery), Angular, React Native, Bootstrap.
• Proficiency in Front-End Development using JavaScript and related frameworks and Backend Development with Django and PostgreSQL data management as evidence by completion of at least two related assignments and/or relevant certification.
• Solid back-end development skills using Java (Spring Framework), Python (Django), PHP (WordPress), Ruby on Rails, or .NET frameworks.
• Experience working with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Microsoft SQL Server; familiar with SQL optimization techniques.
• Hands-on experience with containerization (Docker), CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins), cloud platforms (AWS or Azure), and Linux environments.
• Knowledge of web services protocols including RESTful APIs and SOAP; familiarity with GraphQL is a plus.
• Understanding of system architecture principles and application development best practices including OOP principles and MVC design pattern.
• Familiarity with DevOps tools like Ansible or Jenkins for automation; version control systems such as Git or SVN.
• Experience working within Agile methodologies; excellent problem-solving skills; strong communication skills; ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract

Contract length: 6 months

Pay: $30.00-$44.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 35 per week
