Overview:

RM Sotheby's is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Specialist to join our world-class sales and client development team. This entry-level role is ideal for someone with a passion for collector cars and luxury markets who wants to grow within the auction and private sales space.

The Junior Specialist plays a vital supporting role across multiple business lines, helping to generate and qualify leads, assist with sales pipeline development, and execute a wide range of operational, research, and client support tasks. This is a hands-on, fast-paced position where flexibility, initiative, and a team-first mindset are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead Generation & Sales Support

  • Proactively research and identify potential buyers, sellers, and collectors using online tools, social platforms, past sale data, and internal CRM
  • Support outbound outreach initiatives to generate qualified leads for the sales team
  • Track all outreach activity and notes in the CRM system to ensure visibility and follow-through
  • Pass along warm leads to appropriate specialists and assist in preparing background notes and contact briefs

Client Development Support

  • Assist with planning and executing road trips, event attendance, and outreach campaigns, including scheduling, client prep, and follow-up
  • Provide logistical support for regional and national events (concours, rallies, auctions, etc.)
  • Help maintain and update CRM records, client lists, and tagging to ensure the team is working from accurate data
  • Support research efforts into new collections, private sellers, and potential clients in targeted geographies

General Team Support

  • Contribute to the preparation of consignment pitches, proposals, and client-facing materials as required
  • Assist with day-to-day needs of senior specialists and executives as directed—including scheduling, file organization, presentation prep, and more
  • Act as a flexible team resource, stepping in to support projects or tasks across departments as needed

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 1–3 years of experience in a research, sales support, client service, or marketing role; experience in the luxury, automotive, auction, or art industries is a plus
  • Sales-oriented by nature—comfortable identifying opportunities, making connections, and thinking proactively about how to drive business forward
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Highly curious and resourceful—able to track down useful information and think creatively about business development
  • Comfortable working with CRM systems (Microsoft Dynamics a plus) and data tools like Excel/Sheets
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
  • Professionalism, discretion, and a client-first attitude
  • Willingness to travel on occasion and work occasional evenings/weekends tied to event schedules
  • Passion for collector cars or interest in learning more about the high-end automotive market
