Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Jaffer Group of Companies Full time

About the Role

Jaffer Group is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Lead to oversee day-to-day building performance across a portfolio of commercial and residential properties in the Edmonton and Stony Plain region.

This role is operational in nature and suited to someone who enjoys working across multiple sites, coordinating contractors, maintaining building systems, and ensuring properties operate safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. You will be the point person for facility readiness, preventative care, and on-site issue resolution.

This is not a desk role. It is a hands-on, ownership-driven position with real autonomy and responsibility.

About Jaffer Group – Property Division

Jaffer Group is a diversified Edmonton-based organization with interests across property management, construction, hospitality, data management, and long-term investments.

Our property division manages a growing mix of:

  • Commercial buildings in downtown Edmonton
  • Commercial rental units in Stony Plain
  • Residential apartment and rental properties across the region

We focus on long-term asset care, tenant experience, and operational excellence.

  • Conducting scheduled building and equipment inspections
  • Managing preventative maintenance programs

  • Troubleshooting HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical issues
  • Tracking deficiencies, repairs, and inspection outcomes
  • Ensuring buildings meet safety and compliance standards
  • Responding to urgent maintenance or security concerns
  • Maintaining exterior building standards, including window cleaning
  • Coordinating monthly pest control services
  • Managing tools, materials, and maintenance supply inventory
  • Working with vendors and suppliers for deliveries and services
  • Testing and recommending equipment or maintenance solutions

What We're Looking For

  • High school diploma or technical certification
  • 1–5 years of experience in facilities, maintenance, or property operations
  • Comfortable using hand and power tools
  • Ability to diagnose issues and replace faulty components
  • Experience reading manuals, schematics, or parts documentation
  • Practical knowledge of building systems
  • Strong organizational and follow-through skills
  • Ability to work independently across multiple locations
  • Professional demeanor and attention to detail
  • Basic proficiency with Outlook, Excel, and Word

Why This Role Works Well

  • Competitive salary range
  • Car allowance provided
  • Potential for benefits
  • High trust, low micromanagement environment
  • Variety of work across different property types
  • Long-term stability with a growing organization
  • Clear ownership over facilities performance
