About the rolePace Law is seeking an experienced commercial litigator to handle active and incoming matters on a contract basis. You'll run files with autonomy, collaborate with our team as needed, and step into hearings and trials with confidence.

What you'll do

  • Manage commercial litigation files from pleadings through appeal, as needed
  • Draft and argue motions; conduct discoveries, mediations, pre-trials, and trials
  • Prepare concise, persuasive written materials (facta, briefs, affidavits)
  • Advise clients on risk, strategy, settlement, and costs
  • Coordinate with clerks/junior counsel for efficient file execution

What you bring

  • Called to the Ontario Bar 5+ years and in good standing with the LSO
  • Proven trial experience in the Superior Court (must-have)
  • Strong advocacy, drafting, and file-management skills
  • Ability to work independently on a contract/remote-hybrid basis
  • Business sense and clear client communication
  • LawPRO coverage as applicable

Nice to have

  • Experience with Filevine or similar practice tools
  • Appeals experience

Contract; flexible hours based on file needs
