PCIC, based in Calgary, engages in crude oil and natural gas trading and marketing activities in Canada and elsewhere in North America, in coordination with its parent company PetroChina International (America) Inc., based in Houston, Texas.
Position Overview:
Based in Calgary, the Contract Accountant reports to the Manager, Tax and Reporting. The position works in a full-time capacity with the accounting team to provide support for PetroChina International's Canadian head office. This is a 12-month contract position.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the accounting teams at PetroChina International (Canada) Trading Ltd.:
- Check AP mailbox and update invoice tracking sheet with full details on daily basis.
- Process AR AP invoices into ERP Share Center Platform on daily basis.
- Review and process employee reimbursement reports in ERP Share Center Platform.
- Monitor unpaid and unapproved invoices, following up with other staff for timely approvals and resolutions.
- Communicate with vendors and customers about invoices issues.
- Send approved invoices to Treasury for payment if needed.
- Provide weekly cash forecast To Treasury.
- Update employee reimbursement summary file if needed.
- Assist with other request and ad hoc projects, as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- New grad or 1-3 years relevant experience in a similar field.
- Accounts Payable experience is considered an asset.
- Critical thinker with a strong work ethic.
- Strong self-learning ability and a high sense of responsibility.
