Some of what you will do:

The Regional Sales Director leads Business Development for the Large and Enterprise segment (organizations with more than 499 employees) across all verticals in Ontario and leads the expansion of participating members in large Ontario-based Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs). This role directs a team of business development and account leaders responsible for acquiring new Large and Enterprise customers and expanding Staples' presence in GPOs across the province. The role may potentially include future expansion to lead sales engineer roles, solutions architects or other roles deemed structurally applicable by the Sales Director, Canada or VP – Sales.

A key accountability of the RSD is the overall management of Ontario-based Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs) in the Healthcare and Education sectors. This includes ownership of executive relationships, contract execution, member engagement, and growth across large, affiliated institutions and enterprise-level member accounts.

The RSD develops and executes comprehensive regional sales strategies aligned to corporate objectives, ensuring delivery of both tactical and operational components of the sales plan. The role leverages people, tools, and analytics to drive performance, provides ongoing business updates, and works closely with the Sales Director, Canada to refine plans based on evolving market and organizational needs.

Specifically, You Will:

  • Develops and drives execution of comprehensive large market new logo growth and acquisition strategies aligned with Staples corporate objectives.
  • Monitors key sales performance metrics, managing, coaching, developing and supporting a team in a high-performance environment.
  • Establishes and maintains direct contact with key customers and prospects. Works in a "hands on" manner and may take ownership in support of business development activities within the team.
  • Ownership of executive relationships, contract execution, member engagement, and growth strategies across large, affiliated institutions and enterprise-level member accounts in both the education and healthcare spaces.
    Maintains and continuously improves the company's competitive position through selling activity throughout the region.

Some of what you need:

  • A Bachelor's degree is required and an advanced degree is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Ontario market dynamics particularly in the Healthcare, Education and Provincial Government sectors.
  • Strong leadership skills; ability to motivate, train and coach and manage for results.
  • Ability to set targets and design growth and development plans.
  • Ability to interface at the most senior levels internally, and with customers/prospects.
  • Ability to identify, hire, and retain qualified sales professionals.
  • Strong business, financial, operations, and technical acumen.
  • Proven track record in regional sales leadership and new business acquisition
  • Demonstrated experience leading through change.
  • High level of strategic planning and problem solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Sound decision making ability; exercising good judgement.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, , and all other internal sales systems.
  • Must have minimum of five (5) years sales management experience.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of B2B experience with increasing levels of responsibility in a similar sized or larger organization.
    Must be capable of developing a clear, strategic sales vision with the ability to communicate the vision to key stakeholders.
