We're seeking a Fraud Analyst to join the Manulife Bank of Canada fraud management team. In this role, you'll collaborate with a team of high-performing fraud analysts and investigators dedicated to safeguarding the bank and its clients. Your investigative skills and keen attention to detail will be essential in this dynamic position. Responsibilities include assisting clients over the phone with fraud-related issues, investigating fraud claims, and working with various business partners to develop improved fraud prevention solutions.

Shift hours: 12:00 pm - 8:00 pm EST

Position Responsibilities:

  • Detect and prevent fraudulent activities within the Bank's diverse portfolio of deposit accounts.
  • Foster a customer-focused culture to strengthen client relationships and leverage broader Bank systems and knowledge.
  • Collaborate with other financial institutions to assess the legitimacy of suspicious deposits.
  • Work closely with other business units and stakeholders to share information and trends, ensuring rapid identification and action on large-scale fraud trends.
  • Identify patterns and trends, working with Fraud Analytics to implement necessary risk mitigation strategies.
  • Make informed decisions based on analyses to block accounts, reduce limits, place holds on accounts, or discuss suspicious activities with account holders.

Required Qualifications:

  • Preferred experience in fraud or risk-related roles within banks or financial institutions.
  • Strong customer service experience and skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as team member. manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Thorough knowledge of financial fraud practices

  • General understanding of legalities which impact fraud
  • Ability to take control of stressful situations using tact and diplomacy

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 years' experience in fraud & risk role preferably with a Bank or equivalent
  • Familiarity with fraud tools like Proactive Risk Manager (PRM), Interac Admin tool, Parallels PPLUS
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset. If the successful candidate is in Québec, proficiency in both languages will be required to support clients from various provinces outside of Quebec.
