Position Purpose:
The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for ensuring the timeliness and accuracy of payments received and posted in our systems, implementing company policy on overdue accounts on a timely basis.
Essential Functions:
Post payments, collect payments and process credit card paymentsPrepare bank depositReconcile customer accounts and make follow-up calls to resolve payment issuesRespond to account balance and payment inquiries by customersEnsure customer accounts are accurate and up to dateMonitoring customer's account balance and releasing ordersFollow up of overdue accountsCreate spreadsheets, and use software to prepare reports and AR documentsDistribute account statements to clientsPerform credit checks in connection with setting up new accountsResolve payment issues without delay to prevent any misrepresentationSecondary Functions:
Assist with month-end and year-end closing Special projects as assignedBack up other members of the departmentWork Experience Requirements:
Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and fair credit practices Post-secondary education in accounting preferred Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role Fluent in English (oral and written) Strong proficiency in MS Excel skills, experience with Macros is preferred Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Review and fact-checking skills and accuracy in numerical calculations and documentation with a strong attention to detail Able to work independently, assess urgency and risks to make timely decisions-
