Your opportunity to lead and inspire
We are looking for a Technical Director to provide strategic leadership and technical excellence across our electrical and industrial discipline. Based in our Hamilton office, you will work closely with our Principal Electrical Engineer and regularly engage with our Auckland electrical team to ensure seamless collaboration and delivery of complex, high-impact projects.
In this role, you will:
- Shape technical direction for electrical engineering projects across New Zealand, ensuring innovation, quality and sustainability
- Mentor and empower senior engineers and emerging talent, fostering a culture of collaboration, growth and wellbeing
- Drive client relationships and business development, positioning Mott MacDonald as a trusted advisor in the electrical and industrial sector
- Oversee project governance, design reviews and implementation strategies with integrity and excellence
- Collaborate across offices, ensuring strong alignment between Hamilton and Auckland teams to deliver exceptional outcomes
What you will bring
We are seeking someone who:
- Holds a degree in electrical engineering and brings extensive experience in technical leadership within the industrial or infrastructure sectors
- Has a proven track record in strategic planning, team leadership and client engagement
- Is commercially savvy, with strong project management skills and a commitment to delivering on time and within budget
- Communicates with clarity and empathy, and thrives in a team-oriented environment
- Values inclusion, integrity and continuous learning
- Experience in consultancy is a plus, but above all, we are looking for someone who shares our values and is excited to make a difference
